Andrea has several years of teaching experience. She has a BA of Arts in Music (Jazz/Pop guitar) and has been teaching Guitar, Music Theory and basic Piano at the Swiss Music Academy for 4 years. For the past year she has been teaching at Bach To Rock Music School in Nashville, TN. She specializes in Country guitar and teaches both electric and acoustic guitar.
Country Guitar Vocabulary
I´ll show you all the material you need to play great country guitar. From chord voicings, to arpeggios, to triads and their inversions, to playing in 3rds and 6ths, to double stops, repetitive licks and scales.
Technical skills
I´ll show you the best and fastest ways to get your fingers up to speed, to play clean and in time. I'll teach you techniques such as hammer-ons, pull-offs, (pre-) bends, slides, vibrato as well as rhythm patterns such as playing in triplets.
Soloing & Improvising
I'll teach you how to improvise and come up with your own solos. We´ll look at playing fill in lines between the vocals and how to embellish chords.
Rhythm / Playing Songs
I'll teach you how to play your favorite songs and how to apply various rhythm concepts. I'll show you how to play "behind" the singer and how to emulate lead instr. such as Pedal Steel and Fiddle.
Music Theory
I'll teach you exactly as much Theory as you wish. Music Theory knowledge is not necessary to be a great player - But it opens up a whole new world and makes music so much more fun - Knowing the Nashville Number System is a game changer. l´Il show you.
Gear / Practice Tips
I'll show you how to get that typical country sound: from choosing the right picks, to pedals, amps and pickups to how to attack the strings. We´ll talk about how to practice best. You can advance more in half the time if you practice "right".
